Liton, Sabina, Nasrin nominated for Kool-BSPA Sportsperson of the Year award

Cricketer Liton Das, footballer Sabina Khatun, and archer Nasrin Akter have been nominated in the Sportsperson of the Year category for Kool-BSPA Sports Award 2022, organised by the Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA).

Cricketer Liton Das, footballer Sabina Khatun, and archer Nasrin Akter have been nominated in the Sportsperson of the Year category for Kool-BSPA Sports Award 2022, organised by the Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA).

BSPA is set to award 19 athletes, organisers, and associations under 15 different categories on May 28, announced during a press conference at the BOA auditorium today.

Apart from being nominated for the aforementioned award, Liton was named the best cricketer, while Niger Sultana Joti (best female cricketer), Brazilian Robson Da Silva (best footballer), Sabina Khatun (best female footballer), Nasrin (best archer), Ashraful Islam (best hockey player), Imranur Rahman (best sprinter), Golam Rabbani Choton (best football coach) got their deserving recognition of their recent performances.

Moreover, Amirul Islam was deemed as the best organiser in grassroots and the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) was adjudged as the best federation, while Nafis Iqbal and Sifat Ullah Galib were named as the best promising players in table tennis and badminton, respectively.

Furthermore, the national women's football team and physically-challenged cricket team will be honoured, and hurdler Sumita Rani will be given a special honour.

BSPA president Sanat Babla, general secretary Samon Hossain, and Dr Jesmin Jaman, head of marketing of sponsor square toiletries Ltd, were present during the press conference.
