Bangladesh men's recurve team were eliminated from stage-2 of the Archery World Cup after losing 1-5 to top-seed South Korea in the pre-quarterfinal in Gwangju, South Korea today.

Bangladesh, comprising Abdur Rahman Alif, Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Ruman Sana, first beat their Australian counterparts by a straight 6-0 to advance into the pre-quarterfinal.

However, despite an admirable showing, Bangladesh were unable to beat the world's top team -- Korea. But that was not due to a lack of trying as after losing the first two sets 58-56 and 56-53 to Korea, Bangladesh found solace by drawing 58-58 in a high-scoring third set.

Rubel will now take on German Moritz Wieser, Alif will play Italian Alessandro Paoli and Ruman Sana will square off against Indian Tarundeep Rai in the first round of men's individual recurve event tomorrow while Diya Siddique will play Elia Canales of Spain in the first round of women's recurve individual event on the same day.
