Rakib's WC campaign begins

GM Abdullah Al Rakib departed last night for Georgia to take part in the World Cup Chess, which is scheduled to take place in Tbilisi between September 2 and 28.

Rakib, who qualified for the event as a Asian Zonal 3.2 champion, will play two games in the first round against World Number 7, GM Nakamura Hilkaru of USA. Some 128 players from across the world will be taking part in the knockout style tournament.

Meanwhile, GM Enamul Hossain Razib will accompany Rakib as a coach.
