The third day of the Bangabandhu 31st National Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Championships witnessed as many as seven new records established at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur yesterday.

With Sukumar Rajbangshi (50m backstroke), Mahmudunnabi Nahid (100m butterfly), Samiul Islam Rafi (100m backstroke), Sonia Khatun (100m butterfly), Suraiya Akter (100m backstroke), Nasim Hossain (three-meter springboard) and the Bangladesh Navy relay team (400X200m freestyle relay) triumphant, the total records set in the past three days tallied to 16.

Bangladesh Navy are on top with 27 gold, 21 silver and 10 bronze medals. Bangladesh Army, who bagged seven gold, nine silver and 14 bronze medals, occupy the second spot ahead of BKSP, who have four silver and eight bronze medals.
