Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) today announced a 20-member squad for the upcoming Asian Games Qualifiers and the Asia Cup.

The Asian Games Qualifiers are scheduled to be held in Thailand from May 6 to 15 while the 11th edition of the Asia Cup hockey tournament is scheduled to be held in Indonesia from May 23 to June 1.

Striker Russel Mahmud Jimmy, who was initially left out of the 36-member preliminary squad only to include him later following protests from the executive committee, has been kept in the 20-member squad.

The latest squad also includes one uncapped player, midfielder Al Nahian Shuvo.

Meanwhile, Tareq A Adel, who was appointed as the team manager for the tournament following a meeting of the hockey executive committee on April 10, has been removed from the post, informed the BHF today. Rafiul Haque will accompany the squad as the team leader and will be assuming the role of manager in Tareq's stead.
