Siddikur fails to make cut
Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman missed the cut in the Omega European Masters yesterday, finishing his journey in Southern Switzerland with a four-over-par.
Playing in his first event after the Olympics -- where he finished 58 out of 60 participants -- the day started off quite well for the 31-year-old as he traded four birdies for two bogeys on the first nine holes. However it all unravelled on the back nine of the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club for the Olympian, who had an overnight score of three-over par.
Siddikur only managed a single birdie alongside two bogeys and a double-bogey on the back nine. It seemed that the 16th hole was his downfall, as he scored double-bogeys there on both rounds to throw away any chances of at least making the cut in the US 3,000,000 dollar event.
Frenchman Romain Langasque, who had an overnight score of two-under-par, enjoyed a spot all to himself at the top of the leader board after a fantastic round. He made five birdies and notched an eagle on the 14th hole to take his score to nine-under.
Sweden's Alex Noren, who has hit only one bogey in the tournament, trailed the leader by one shot.
