Siddikur far behind
It was another disappointing day for Siddikur Rahman, as he slumped to 28th position on the leaderboard after the conclusion of the first round of the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open yesterday.
Philippines' Antonio Lascuna took the lead at the top with an eight-under-par, with two-time Asian Tour winner Danny Chia of Malaysia at second with seven-under. Five other golfers were tied for third place.
Siddkur started the USD 7,50,000 event in great fashion, carding birdies on the first two holes at the picturesque Royal Mingalardon Golf and Country Club in Yangon
He followed that with three more birdies. However, two bogeys saw him sink down the leaderboard as he finished on three-under-par.
Similarly, Lascuna started the day with two consecutive birdies. However, unlike Siddikur, he kept at it, carding birdies on the third and fourth holes. His hot streak only got hotter as he scored an eagle on the fifth hole, before finally cooling down. However, he came back with two more birdies to finish on a high.
