Zia unbeaten champion

Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman emerged unbeaten champion in the Gazi Habibur Rahman International Rating Chess Tournament, which concluded at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room yesterday.

Zia beat Shawkat Hossain Pollob to earn 8.5 points from nine rounds.  FM Mehdi Hasan Parag and Uten finished second and third respectively after a tiebreaker separated the two players who finished with 7.5 points each.
