Age-group swimming starts tomorrow

Saif PowerTec 32nd National Age-Group Swimming Championships get underway at the Syed Nazrul Islam Swimming Complex in Mirpur tomorrow.

Approximately 800 budding swimmers including 200 female participants from 71 organisations such as district sports associations, swimming clubs, BKSP and Bangladesh Ansar will be competing in five different groups for 100 gold medals.

This was disclosed at a press conference at the BOA auditorium yesterday. Bangladesh Swimming Federation's general secretary BM Saif informed sponsors Saif PowerTec would bear all the expenses of an estimated budget of Tk 20 lakh. The federation will arrange for the accommodation, transport and food for the participants and officials. The swimmers, who will produce new records, will receive cash rewards, informed the organisers.
