Another 10-0 victory for Abahani

Title contenders Abahani returned to their marauding form in the Green Delta Insurance Green Premier Division Hockey League with a 10-0 win against Azad SC at the Maulna Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday.

With fifth win in as many matches, Club Cup winners Abahani consolidated the lead with 15 points, three more than archrivals Mohammedan and holders Dhaka Mariner Young's Club.

Abahani had to sweat over for a 5-1 win against Ajax SC in their previous match, but the Sky Blues toyed with Azad SC yesterday like they did against Bangladesh Police (10-0), Victoria SC (8-0) and Bangladesh SC (10-0) in their first three matches.

The Dhanmondi outfit dominated the first half with a 5-0 lead before adding five more in the second half as Ashraful Islam and Krishna Kumar struck four and three goals respectively while Arshad Hossain scored a brace and Khorshedur Rahman netted the other.
