Asian Women’s volleyball from Nov 9

Maldives and Kyrgyzstan teams landed in Dhaka yesterday to take part in the Bangamata Asian Senior Women’s Central Zone International Volleyball Championship, which will get underway on November 9 at the Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.

Afghanistan and Nepal are scheduled to arrive in the capital today to participate in the five-nation tournament from which Turkmenistan withdrew their entry at the last moment. The six-day tournament will be held in round-robin format, with top two teams playing in the final.

Hosts Bangladesh are the fifth team of the tournament. This will be the first-ever international tournament for the omen in red and green.
