Bangladesh Police clinch Premier Division chess title

Bangladesh Police clinched the title of the SAIF POWERTEC Premier Division Chess League with a match in hand after beating Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society by 3.5 - 0.5 points at the Bangladesh Chess Federation's Hall Room today to retain the title.
In the day's 10th round, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, GM Raunak Sadhwani and GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Police beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan and Aminul Islam of Janata respectively while GM Abdullah Al Rakib was held by Sanket Chakravarty.
With nine victories, Bangladesh Police took an unassailable lead with 18 points, four points ahead of second-placed Saif Sporting Club who beat Bangladesh Navy 2.5 - 1.5 today. Shahin Chess Club were in the 3rd position with 12 points from nine matches.
GM B. Adhiban and GM Reefat Bin Sattar of Saif SC beat IM Abu Sufian Shakil and FM Khandaker Aminul Islam of Navy respectively while Navy's FM Subrota Biswas beat FM Mehdi Hasan Parag while Minhaz Uddin drew with Belarusian GM Kovalev Vladislav of SAIF SC.
