Sarwar Jaman Nipu struck a brace while Abedin Rakib and Mohammad Atiquzzaman netted one goal apiece to confirm Bangladesh’s semifinal berth while sending the Lankans out.
Despite enjoying lion’s share of possession and creating numerous chances, Bangladesh had to be content with a 1-0 lead in the first half. But the boys in red and green turned on the style, scoring three times in the second half.
Bangladesh will face India in the last match of Group A on Thursday which will decide the group champions and runners-up.
