BKKF to extend help towards destitute sportspersons

Bangabandhu Krirasebi Kalyan Foundation (BKKF) has decided to provide Tk 2000 allowance per month to each of the 1150 destitute sportspersons, who have been facing the hardship of coronavirus pandemic, for next one year.

The decision was taken today at the board meeting of BKKF with state minister for youth and sports and BKKF chairman Zahid Ahsan Russel presiding over the meeting at the conference room of National Sports Council.

"Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed this organisation soon after the liberation with an aim to help the needy sports persons and BKKF has always been with the destitute sportspersons. We have already helped 50 needy sportspersons by providing them Tk 10,000 each," said Russel adding that the sports and youth ministry had also helped 1000 sportsperson, who suffered during the shutdown due to the coronavirus.
