CWAB to ask BCB to start DPL after Eid

The Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) have decided to send a letter to the respective committee under the Bangladesh Cricket Board to resume the Dhaka Premier League with proper health guidelines after Eid-Ul-Fitr.

CWAB President Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP, vice President Khaled Mahmud Shujon, former captain Akram Khan, former captain Habibul Bashar, current ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, current Test captain Mominul Haque and other senior cricketers were present at a video conference on Saturday, according to a press conference.

The cricketers gave their opinions about resuming the DPL -- which was postponed indefinitely after the first round due to the coronavirus pandemic -- considering the development of the game and financial aspects.

During the meeting, they came to the the decision to give a letter to the BCB. Among other decisions, CWAB is willing to help former cricketers in district level, cricket organisers, coaches, umpires, scorers and groundstaff under a fund named "CWAB Procheshta" during this pandemic.
