Daniel Batz’s gigantic act

Saarbrucken became the first fourth division side to reach the last four with a penalty shootout win over Fortuna Duesseldorf on Tuesday, thanks to five saves from the spot by their goalkeeper Daniel Batz. Saarbrucken won the penalty shootout 7-6, with the absorbing contest ending 1-1 after normal and extra time. Batz was Saarbrucken's hero as he saved five penalties, one in normal time and four in the shootout, to send his side through and spark wild celebrations among the jubilant home fans.
