DNCC Mayor Cup to begin on Nov 15

With an aim to encourage the youth to engage in different sporting activities and keep them away from drugs, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Cup, powered by Runner and co-powered by Daraz, will begin on November 15.

In a press conference held at a capital hotel today, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam officially announced the event. The event will see a total of 54 teams from DNCC wards and reserved women's councilors participate in three different disciplines -- Football, Cricket and Volleyball. 

Any citizen from DNCC can represent their respective wards in the tournament. 

The teams of the three disciplines will be formed under the supervision of 54 councilors and 18 women councilors. 

Former Bangladesh cricket team skipper Khaled Mashud will act as the technical director for the cricket events while former national footballer Sheikh Mohammad Aslam and Bangladesh Volleyball Federation joint general secretary Fazle Rabbi Babul will act as technical directors for football and volleyball events respectively.
