Govt takes initiative to build gymnasiums in every district

The State Minister for youth and sports Zahid Ahsan Rasel informed today that the government has taken initiative to build gymnasiums in every district of the country to motivate the younger generation to exercise more.

"A total of 19 gymnasiums are being constructed this year. Also, well-facilitated gymnasiums will be constructed in each district of the country in phases," said Rasel while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a gymnasium named Inspire Fitness in the capital this evening.

"In order to preserve the open spaces and playgrounds scattered all over the country, we have taken initiatives to build one playground in each union of the country. We have already completed the construction of 125 Sheikh Russell mini stadiums at the upazila level. 186 more mini stadiums will be built this year. As per the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directives, initiatives have been taken to build the stadiums to facilitate everyone playing while keeping intact the natural environment," he added.
