Sarwar Hossain got Bangladesh ahead in the 10th minute from a penalty corner before Pushkor Khisa Mimo made it 2-0 in the 24th minute through a field goal.

Indonesia, who are ranked 48th in the world, pulled one back against the 32nd-ranked Bangladesh in the 40th minute, but Iman Gobimathan's side restored the two-goal cushion in the next minute through Fazle Rabbi.

The men in red and green will play against Sri Lanka in their next match on May 10.

Six out of the nine competing teams will qualify for the Asian Games, which was yesterday postponed indefinitely.
