Hockey team to play in Korea

Bangladesh national hockey team will travel to South Korea in July for preparation ahead of the Asian Games, which will be held in Jakarta from August 18 to September 2.

The team will stay in South Korea from July 25 to August 2 and play five warm-up matches against Korean national team as well as other opponents, confirmed Bangladesh Hockey Federation's general secretary Abdus Sadeque yesterday.

“We initially invited the Koreans to come here to play a few matches against Bangladesh as part of our Asian Games preparation, but the Korean hockey federation, instead, requested us to travel as they will provide all facilities including the air-fare. We accepted the proposal yesterday,” Sadeque said, adding that Malaysian coach Gobinathan Krishnamurthi will start tactical practice from Friday morning with selected 27 club players, who have no engagement in the Premier Division Hockey League.
