Accrington owner Andy Holt must treat his players to burgers after every game this season regardless of results, the English Football League (EFL) committee demanded.

Holt found himself summoned before the EFL committee after he tweeted on April 1 that, as an occasional bonus, he sometimes gives his players a few hundred pounds to spend on "McDonald's and the like" as a treat after wins.

Unfortunately, that was a direct contravention of regulations, which state that all bonuses, whether cash or 'in kind', need to be written into players' contracts and declared to league authorities.

Holt said he "reserves the right to buy anyone a burger" with his money, but the EFL released a statement Friday demanding Holt demonstrate a "consistent approach for all matches", which means he will have to buy burgers whether his team win or lose should he wish to continue the practice.
