Hridoy advances in Muscat

The 16-year-old beat Thisum Gamage of Sri Lanka by 3-0 sets before beating a Saudi Arabian opponent by 3-1 sets to advance to the next stage.

Hridoy's teammate Ramhim Lian Bawm, however, lost both matches to be eliminated from the competition.

Earlier, Bangladesh team had finished 20th among 41 countries in the Asian Table Tennis Championship in Doha last week.
