Messi won’t appear for PCR tests: reports

Lionel Messi has communicated to FC Barcelona that he will not appear for the pre-training PCR tests for Covid-19, according to a report by local Catalan radio station Rac1.

Reportedly, his lawyers have advised him against going to training, arguing that his affiliation with the club ended which he officially notified the hierarchy of his decision to leave through a burofax on Tuesday.

Barcelona are holding the coronavirus testing ahead of the squad starting the pre-season with training under new coach Ronald Koemon on Monday.

Although earlier reports maintained that the 33-year-old would continue to train with the club, he cannot do so unless he tests negative for coronavirus.
