Pace bowler Mehedi Hasan Rana has received a one-month ban from all forms of cricket with immediate effect after the cricketer was found to have breached disciplinary conduct of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The board confirmed the news through an official statement on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old expressed his frustration over selection process and gave a status on social media earlier this month. Rana, who later removed the status, had also blasted a selector for not keeping his promise of include him in the Bangladesh A team squad.

Rana, who was supposed to play for Chattogram division in the ongoing National Cricket League, was not included due to the controversy. According to the press release, the BCB termed the issue as unacceptable coming from a player registered with the board. The pacer has also been strongly cautioned for his act of indiscretion.

The left-arm pacer picked up 90 wickets in 38 first class matches and was among the top wicket takers in the recent editions of the Bangladesh Premiere League T20 competition.
