Salma ‘glad’ after call-up in UAE T20 League
Bangladesh women's team stars Salma Khatun and Jahanara Alam are set to feature in the upcoming Women's T20 League in UAE, slated to take place between November 4 and 9.
While pacer Jahanara previously featured, Salma was glad to have the opportunity to represent her country in the tournament for the first time.
"It's a very good feeling. Before, only Jahanara had played there and this time my name is also there so definitely it's a good feeling. Since this is my first opportunity, I will try to give my best and that's my target," Salma, who had led Bangladesh during their Asia Cup triumph in 2018, said.
Currently ranked eighth in the T20 all-rounders' rankings, Salma added: "Wherever I get the chance, I will want to do something for the team. Since I am a representative of my country, I want to perform."
However, she reiterated that her off-spin will be her focus. "Actually, bowling will be prioritised and I want to put more focus on it.."
"I started working at home during the lockdown before also getting the opportunity to start practicing in the field at Khulna Stadium."
