Shapla, Erina, Bristy in last 8

Shapla Akter, Erina and Bristy moved into the quarterfinals of women's singles in the Rockland Summer Open (Ranking) Badminton Tournament at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium yesterday.

National champion Shapla of Kawasaki Badminton Club beat Nabila of Army 21-15, 21-16; Erina of Army beat her teammate Rehana 21-16, 21-14 while Birsty of Army defeated Urmi of BDC 21-17, 21-06 to move into the last eight.

In the men's singles, Razib, Akram, Almas, Sumit, Munna, Morsalin, Arafat, Faisal, Imran and Rubel won their respective matches to advance to the next round, said a press release from the Bangladesh Badminton Federation.
