Navy trounce BKSP

Bangladesh Navy notched a 6-0 win over BKSP in the SIBL Victory Day hockey competition at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium yesterday. Rasel Mahmud Jimmy, Krishna Kumar Das, Moinul Islam, Roman Sarker, Ashraful Islam and Rimon Kumar Ghosh scored a goal apiece for Navy.
CR7 skipping Ballon d'Or ceremony?

The winner of the 2018 Ballon d'Or will be Real Madrid's Luka Modric and because of this, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo will not attend the ceremony, Sky Italia reported on Friday.
According to the Italian network, Cristiano finished the vote in second place with Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann coming in third. Out of the three, it would appear that only the Croatian will be at the glitzy awards in person.
The event takes place in Paris. As well as the results for the men's vote, the women's award will be handed once again to Brazilian Marta, while the Kopa Trophy, for best young player, will go to Kylian Mbappe.
China-BD Wushu demonstration held

The 2nd Ambassador Cup China-Bangladesh Wushu Demonstration was held at the National Sports Council gymnasium yesterday.
Around 300 wushu players from Bangladesh Army, BGB, BKSP, district sports associations and wushu clubs took part in 30 events of the day-long meet, which was organised with the assistance of the Chinese embassy in Dhaka.
Zhang Zuo, the Chinese ambassador witnessed the event as chief guest. Silver screen star Masum Parvez Rubel was also present as a special guest.
“I am impressed with the demonstration here. If we can continue the effort, we can become the best in South Asia,” Rubel said in his reaction after the event.
The Chinese ambassador handed over a cheque of Tk 65 lakh for the purchase of wushu equipment to the Bangladesh Wushu Federation.
Siddikur slips

Siddikur Rahman slipped to joint 46th position after a one-over-par (73) in the third round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open yesterday.
The runner-up of 2016 edition exchanged three bogeys for two birdies at the Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita on Saturday to take his overall tally to three-under-par (213).
Justin Harding of South Africa and Kurt Kitayama of the United States were on top of the leaderboard with 16-under-par (200).
Dhoni wins local tennis tourney

As the Indian team is gearing up for a four-match Test series in Australia, wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni is keeping himself occupied at home by playing a different sport altogether. Dhoni took part in a local tennis tournament and not just that, he went on to win a title as well. Dhoni featured in the doubles format in the tournament, and IPL side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tweeted: “Game. Set. Match. #Thala crowned with championship in the Country Cricket Club Tennis Tournament."
