Sanitation workers: don’t they deserve more?

Even during the ongoing pandemic, sanitation work and sanitation workers remain indispensable for Dhaka city and its dwellers.

Despite the increased health-risk, their work environment and low standard of living failed to draw enough concern. The Daily Star, WaterAid Bangladesh and the Embassy of Sweden have come together to start a campaign for these unsung heroes: The Untold Stories of Sanitation and Waste Workers.

In this installment of the campaign, Star Multimedia tries to explore the challenges and possible solutions to the harsh working and living conditions of these sanitation workers.
