Bangladesh sports passed a happening year as it left 2022 in the rearview mirror looking forward to making 2023 a fruitful year. 2022 had its serious ups and demoralising lows with the women's football team winning the SAFF Championship by beating Nepal 3-1 for the very first time making it the highlight of Bangladesh's sporting success on the international stage. Cricket which is the country's most popular sport was under the microscope for both right and wrong reasons. Though there were issues that made headlines concerning cricketers and the board, the performance on the field was largely positive, especially after the slump in 2021.
