Thousands of workers starving since jute mill closure

A year ago, on July 1, 2020, the government decided to close 26 state-run jute mills. Nine mills from the Khulna-Jashore areas were closed.

More than 42,000 workers were left unemployed. On top of that, 31,000 temporary and substitute workers are yet to receive their dues.
