The curtains fell on the 48th National Athletics at the National Stadium in Dhaka yesterday as two new national records were set. 

Sorowar improved by 0.61 metres in one year since he set a new record by clearing 14.89 metres in the last edition of the competition, held in February 2024.

Shirin Akter, meanwhile, maintained her dominance in the women’s 100m event, securing the title for a record 16th time.
