BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday said political parties have no doubt anymore that the next national election will be held in February 2026.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said yesterday that the most critical challenge of the government and the Election Commission is to ensure that the upcoming national election is conducted in a free, fair and impartial manner.

The BNP and its like-minded partners, who had staged simultaneous protests against the Awami League government, will take part in the February election as an alliance.

Fool-proof preparation needed to ensure free, fair polls come February.
