Some particular newspapers have once again started assassinating the character of lawmakers, alleged Shamim Osman while speaking in parliament yesterday.

Niazul Islam, a close aide of Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman, was not the only person who brandished a gun during the attack on Narayanganj Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and her supporters on Tuesday.

The saga of the Osman family reminds us of a basic universal rule: No one can undermine you until you undermine yourself. The controversial activities of the Osman brothers have continued to bring the family ill repute.
