Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s poignant drama “All We Imagine as Light” took home the best picture prize at the 18th Asian Film Awards. The film has been on an impressive journey since winning the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival last May. Kapadia praised her lead actors during her acceptance speech, expressing her gratitude and excitement for ending this journey in Hong Kong.

Renowned for her powerful performances in critically acclaimed films such as “Padman”, “Andhadhun”, and “Monica O My Darling”, Radhika Apte is now set to step behind the camera. The versatile artiste is making her directorial debut with an action-fantasy film titled Kotya.

Payal Kapadia’s “All We Imagine As Light” continues to make waves on the global stage, adding another feather to its cap after receiving recent Golden Globe nominations. The film has now secured a coveted spot on the longlist for three prestigious BAFTA awards.

The festival will commence on May 14 and run till May 25, this year.
