The veteran actor and filmmaker, fresh from breaking box office records with "American Sniper," will direct and produce the as-yet-untitled film for Warner Bros Pictures.

“American Sniper” is the highest-grossing 2014 domestic release. The R-rated drama has made $337.2 million since debuting in a handful of theaters last December.

“American Sniper” has been knocked off the top of the US box office by “SpongeBob SquarePants'. The second animated film to be based on the anarchic TV series took $56m in its opening weekend.
