After the success of her web-series debut “Call Me Bae”, Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is set to charm audiences once more in the upcoming thriller “CTRL”.

Prime Video has officially renewed the Ananya Panday-led comedy series “Call Me Bae” for a second season, as announced yesterday.

“Call Me Bae," created by Ishita Moitra with co-writers Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair, follows the story of poor little rich girl Bella Chowdhary, affectionately known as Bae, played by Ananya Panday. For those who may not be familiar with generational slang, 'Bae' is a term of endearment used to refer to someone's sweetheart.

Concocted by Ishita Moitra and produced by Karan Johar, an eagerly awaited comedy series is on the horizon. With a star-studded ensemble featuring talents like Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, and Muskkaan Jaferi, the series is set to deliver a refreshing dose of humour. Titled “Call Me Bae”, the show will debut on Prime Video on September 6.

“Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” is the closest and perhaps the most honest and relatable representation of this lost generation, as the title of the movie says. Perhaps a bit too relatable at times.

In 2019, through Karan Johar's film "Student of the Year 2," Ananya Panday debuted as an actress. Despite the film not performing well at the box office, she went on to work in movies like "Pati Patni Aur Woh," "Khaali Peeli," and "Liger." She has not been able to establish her position despite these efforts, facing criticism and questions about her acting skills from both critics and audiences.

Ananya Panday began her acting career with the Bollywood film "Student of the Year 2", the Karan Johar directorial venture in 2019.

What makes the humour questionable is one particularly problematic dialogue where a character implies that mental health is a construct for the rich. This dialogue not only disregards depression as a legitimate condition but also adds to the preexisting social stigma, implying that it's all 'just in our minds.'

Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur sparked dating rumors last year, as they were seen together at an event last year. Even Ranbir Kapoor fanned the flames to this, as he told the media that her boyfriend’s name starts with an ‘A’.
