Before her acting career, Anjana was recognised as a celebrated dancer. In 1976, she began her journey in Dhaka cinema with the film Setu, directed by Babul Chowdhury. However, her first released film was “Dasyu Bonhur”, directed by Shamsuddin Togor, opposite actor Sohel Rana. Following its success, Anjana rose to prominence, acting opposite nearly all the leading actors of Dhaka cinema during her prime.
