The case pertains to Rahman’s track “Veera Raja Veera” from the film “Ponniyin Selvan: II”, which the court noted was musically “identical” to “Shiva Stuti”, a devotional composition by the late Dhrupad maestros Ustad Nasir Faiyazuddin and Ustad Nasir Zahiruddin Dagar

Singer Abhijeet recently criticised Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman for what he termed as an excessive reliance on technology in music production. In an interview with ANI, Abhijeet alleged that AR Rahman’s approach had sidelined traditional instrumentalists and left many jobless.
