The journey of band music in Bangladesh is witnessing a resurgence, with many recognising that it all began in Chittagong. Not only that but numerous successful bands and music icons have emerged from this coastal city, surrounded by the sea and hills. It's within this Chattogram’s landscape that this year's much-anticipated "Joy Bangla Concert", one of the country's biggest concerts is taking place.

The Joy Bangla Concert, traditionally held in Dhaka since 2015, will take place at the MA Aziz Stadium in the port city of Chattogram on March 7 this year. This marks the first time the concert will be held outside Dhaka.

The echoes of sorrow reverberate through the Bangladeshi music scene as it mourns the untimely departure of Shahed Hossain, a gifted guitarist, musician, and songwriter. Known for his contributions to renowned bands such as Mechanix and Poraho, Shahed's departure leaves a void in the hearts of fans and fellow musicians alike.

The event, featuring an array of popular bands and artistes coming together to celebrate a musical night, will be unveiled for the audience at the Army Stadium. The organisers have packed numerous surprises this year.

Dhaka witnessed a mighty crowd of music lovers this year at yesterday’s “Cholo Bangladesh Concert” organised by the telecom giant Grameenphone and AsiaticExp at the Army Stadium. The star-studded line-up consisting of some of the finest musical acts of the country varying across genres, delivered yet another show for audiences to cherish for a long time.

A concert titled “Cholo Bangladesh” has been arranged by Grameenphone in view of the Tigers performing on the biggest stage of the cricket world. The programme will be a musical extravaganza to celebrate the national cricket team’s journey to the ICC Cricket World Cup, so far. The event has been scheduled to be held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on Friday, October 20.

On Saturday (September 9), the two Bangladeshi bands, Souls and Artcell reunited in Astralian land and staged a joint concert at the ISEE Church Auditorium of Brisbane.

The grand finale of the month-long championship was held on May 6 at the International Convention City Bashundhara, with a prize pool of Tk15 lakh.

It’s been 17 years of 16 minutes 21 seconds.

The standout rendition was Cryptic Fate’s interpretation of “Teer Hara Ei Dheuer Shagor”. As the night reached a crescendo with fans chanting for Artcell,

This year's show is set to feature iconic and emerging bands of the country, includes such as Artcell, AvoidRafa, Lalon, Chirkutt, Cryptic Fate, Karnival, Meghdol, Nemesis and Arekta Rock Band, among others.

Arranged by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) subgroup Young Bangla, the concert has now, specially called forth for female participation.

Artcell’s Otritio doesn’t shy away from making a bold statement.

While the album will be officially released on March 9, users of the GAAN App will be able to listen to the album starting from today.

Artcell had originally announced their third album during a concert at Chattogram.

Dhaka Rock Fest 3.0 is all set to end the year with a bang, with day one of the concert beginning today from 11 am at ICCB Expo Zone. A total of 16 bands will be performing today. Organised by Banglalink and Sky Tracker Limited, the two day long musical event will greet audiences with a stellar line-up including Warfaze, Aurthohin, Artcell, AvoidRafa, Mechanix, Subconscious, Cryptic Fate, Karnival, Nemesis and Aftermath, among others.

There are few names in the history of Bangladesh’s underground music scene that ring with as much power and ferocity as Artcell, Black and Cryptic Fate. So iconic were these three bands in their individual forms, that they decided to come together and perform as a trio.

Artcell, Black, Cryptic Fate – the ‘ABC’ concerts were known to be a hallmark of the 2000’s and 2010’s. After almost a decade, these three mighty bands will return to the stage with the concert, ‘November Rain Volume 2’, on November 12.

The Metallica-cover band transformed overnight and hence was the birth of Artcell, one of Bangladesh's most iconic and well known progressive metal bands.
