Producers voiced their frustration over films stalled in the censor board's approval process, but their protests yielded no resolution. For years, filmmakers have called for the abolition of the censor board in favour of a system of censor certification.

Aung Rakhine’s banned Chakma film ‘My Bicycle’ premieres
The first full-length Chakma-language film, “My Bicycle”, directed by Aung Rakhine, was screened yesterday at the Suhrawardy Udyan Open Stage, which was previously banned by the censorship board.
