With “Phoenixer Diary 2”, ' Aurthohin is launching a new sub-genre of Bangla rock music: Bangla Nu Rock. The album features internationally acclaimed artistes, Grammy-nominated guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, bassist Babbie Lewis, and Ahnaf Salehin, the son of Basebaba Suman. The album is dedicated to the memory of the sound engineer and artiste, A K Ratul.

Celebrated Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin officially announced the release of its much-anticipated album “Phoenixer Diary 2” at a press conference held today at Skyfall Rooftop Restaurant in Mohakhali, Dhaka. The event was organised by Cool Exposure.

Frontman Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon — affectionately known to fans as BassBaba — has, in recent years, managed a fraught period of illness that interrupted Aurthohin’s public schedule.

Popular Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin is set to release its long-awaited album “Phoenix-er Diary 2” this October, three years after the release of “Phoenix-er Diary”. The announcement was made through a motion poster on Facebook, where a fiery phoenix symbolised the theme of resilience and rebirth.

Aurthohin is set to embark on its first-ever tour of the United States later this year. The band will perform across various cities from the last week of October to mid-December, with shows scheduled in New York, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

After months of uncertainty, concert enthusiasts finally have a reason to rejoice. Several concerts had been postponed in recent months due to security concerns. However, the wait is over, as two major concerts are set to take place today at separate venues in the capital, featuring an exciting lineup of musicians.

Aurthohin is set to deliver a solo concert that aligns with the technology-driven future of the world. The concert titled "Aurthohin 2077: A Cyberpunk Odyssey" promises an innovative experience inspired by the popular video game “Cyberpunk 2077”.

Aurthohin shared exciting news with their fans on New Year’s by introducing their newest member through an official announcement.

It is rather telling of the people when the army has to show up because of how people behave at a concert. “They brought an international band to a mall to perform,” said Sakib, who had attended the concert with high hopes. “It was a total joke. Organisers started taking selfies with the band mid-show, while Jal had to ask 20 times for a light to be turned off.”

The "Legends of the Decade" concert, initially scheduled for last Friday, was cancelled due to heavy rain. However, the event set to feature performances by the Pakistani band Jal alongside Bangladeshi bands Aurthohin, Vikings, and Conclusion has been rescheduled to take place today with a change of venue.

Mumtaz spoke with palpable excitement about returning to Bangladesh. "We are going to perform in Bangladesh after over a decade," he said, his eyes twinkling with nostalgia. "All Jal fans are probably grown up now, like me," he added with a chuckle. "But still they remember all the songs, it's so overwhelming for us to come here again and receive such a heartwarming welcome."

Renowned 90s band vikings will perform at the “Legends of the Decade” concert, scheduled to take place on September 27. Vikings have now officially joined the lineup for this much-anticipated event.

The renowned Pakistani band Jal is set to perform in Dhaka on September 27 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album. The concert, titled "Legends of the Decade", will also feature the popular Bangladeshi band Aurthohin. This concert marks Aurthohin’s long-awaited return to the stage after a significant break.

Aurthohin's vocalist, Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, widely recognised as Bassbaba Sumon, fought a prolonged battle against cancer. Apart from other health issues, he underwent surgeries for eye and spine complications.

In 2017, after receiving medical treatment, he was returning from a hospital in Bangkok, when a car suddenly hit him. The accident caused damage to his spinal cord. Subsequently, he had to undergo further treatment. After extensive treatment for both cancer and spinal cord injuries, Sumon returned to the country in 2021.

In a city where most youth are confined to social circle jerks of restaurants and malls; these concerts are much-needed injections of life. Whilst there is a risk of fatigue and overuse, as it is with any industry, it is important that organisers persevere and stick to what makes them unique.

The project initially started two years ago, but two months back they started again from where it was left. Shishir said, "I was going through a nervous breakdown, thinking at one point this won’t get done. But it turns out that song is doing great now."

Aurthohin has finally released its first studio album after six years, titled Phoenix Er Diary-1.

After almost six years, Aurthohin will finally be launching a new album, titled "Phoenix Er Diary-1" in December.
