With some 3.4 million cases pending with courts across the country, the government plans to form a high-powered committee for their speedy disposal, Law Minister Anisul Huq said yesterday.

The number of total pending cases lying with the High Court Division till March 31, 2016 were 3,99,303, says Law Minister Anisul Huq.

In a country where corrupt practices dominate traffic rules and laws, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has prepared a draft law under which police would not require any warrant to arrest anyone for violation of traffic rules.
