The Gulshan outlet of Apan Jewellers is shut down following a raid at five of its branches today in search of “dirty money” following the lead of Ahmed Shafat’s bragging about gold smuggling.

Two members of National Human Rights Commission’s fact finding committee, which has been formed to probe the incident of the alleged rape of two university girls at an upscale hotel in Banani, visit the place of occurrence.

A Dhaka court places two Banani rape accused Ahmed Shafat and Shadman Sakif on six and five-day remand respectively. Police also claim to have found primary evidence of the rape of two university students at an upscale hotel in Banani area of Dhaka.
