Terming Bangladesh’s failure to qualify for the Asia Cup for the first time as a ‘big blow’ to the country’s hockey , general secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation’s (BHF) ad-hoc committee, Lt Col (retd) Riazul Hasan, has cited lack of finances as a cause for the team’s disastrous performance in the ongoing AHF Cup.

A bunch of national players will get the opportunity to play in different European hockey leagues as Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) is all set to appoint German coach Peter Gerhard Rach as the technical director of the local game’s governing body from June 1.

The Bangladesh Under-21 hockey team started their marathon of a journey to reach their preparation camp in Haryana, India where they will set camp for extended preparations before heading to Oman to participate in the Junior Asia Cup, scheduled to get underway from May 23.
