Cox's Bazar District Administration has taken preparations in advance to ensure safety of Rohingyas in the refugee camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas of Cox's Bazar as there is a forecast of cyclone "Asani" under the influence of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra is advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no 3 as the low over the Northwest Bay and adjoining area intensified into a well-marked low over Northwest Bay and adjoining Odisha-West Bengal coast.
