Dhaka is basically divided into a few “general areas”. These areas refer to a larger neighbourhood that are recognised by the same name. For example – the Mirpur area might refer to the whole of Mirpur-1 through 12. Like every other neighbourhood in the city, there are a few perks of living in Mirpur.

After around seven months of closure due to coronavirus pandemic, the National Zoo at Mirpur will be open to visitors again from November 1.

With no people in sight, the animals housed at Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur-1 seem to be having the time of their lives (however much is possible within the confines of a cage).

The government has announced the closure of National Zoo located in Dhaka’s Mirpur area from today to March 31 to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Government of Japan has extended grant assistance worth US$ 60,291 to Bangladesh National Zoo in Dhaka for improvement of its audio-visual equipment for educational exhibition.
