The installation work of second span (superstructure) of the Padma Bridge begins at the Jajira point in Shariatpur.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader tells Parliament that all-out efforts are on the completion of the construction works on the Padma Bridge by December 2018.

The government will build the Padma bridge with its own funds and construction work will begin in the current fiscal year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced in parliament yesterday.
