Bangladesh Shipping Corporation's profit fell to Tk 50.33 crore in the first quarter of 2023–24.

A shipping ministry rule issued last week stipulating that only Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) will be able to carry goods imported by the government has created frustration among private oceangoing ship operators. 

The Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) has appointed a board member nominated by Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited (Beximco).

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation is in the process of purchasing new bulk carriers for its fleet after about 27 years.
