In preparation for their opening Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup against Australia tomorrow at 6.30am (Bangladesh Time), Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh team practiced at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Bangladesh will kickstart the Super Eight stage against favourite Australia on Friday at 6.30am (Bangladesh Time).

“I always said the result was not that important to me. The objective was to improve the performance, which we did not do in Melbourne and I think we achieved that objective regardless of the result,” said Bangladesh coach Javier Cabrera after the match.

Bangladesh are hoping to avoid another mauling at the hands of Australia when the men in red and green square off against the Aussies in their home match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on June 6

“Of course, we will work on our shortcomings and discuss them, in order to come back in the next match,” Nahida added.

The ODI series is part of the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship

The Australian team will arrive in Dhaka on March 17. The ODIs will be played on March 21, 24 and 27 respectively.

This is Bangladesh’s joint worst result in the Qualifers, as they had earlier lost by the same margin in the 1994 Qualifiers against the UAE.

"The two run-outs were crucial," said Shanto, who captained Bangladesh after Shakib Al Hasan's finger injury forced him out of the game.
