Eleta Kingsley made his long-awaited debut as Bangladesh registered their first-ever victory against an African side when the men in red and green beat Seychelles 1-0 in a FIFA friendly at the Sylhet District Stadium on Saturday.

In 2014, the football-crazy people of Sylhet broke through the main gate and thronged the Sylhet District Stadium touchline, forcing the organisers to start the match between Bangladesh U-23 and Nepal U-23 an hour later than the scheduled time.

Being an Asian nation, Bangladesh rarely get the opportunity to play international football matches against nations from outside the continent. Bangladesh are set to play against the East African nation Seychelles at the Sylhet District Stadium today which will only be their fifth encounter against a team from Africa.
